Birds, and Butterflies, and Airplanes-Oh My!

This month our kiddos have been hard at work learning about wings and things that fly! Our friends have enjoyed discovering different types of birds, bats, and insects. Some of our classes even got to make a pretend bat cave by hanging a parachute from the ceiling! They were very good bats, doing everything upside down. :) We also learned about non living things that fly, like planes, kites, and hot air balloons, and how they stay in the air.

We had a blast pretending to be insects. Don't you like our antennae?

Out caterpillars came just in time! We are looking forward to their grand exit as butterflies soon!

We enjoyed some themed cooking classes. This was an airplane made from bananas (body), graham crackers (wings), seed butter and raisins (windows).

What a great unit to end our school year on! We are looking forward to the fun and creative units our teachers will implement during the summer months!
