Westmoreland's New Outdoor Space!

FUN at the Westmoreland School's NEW Outdoor Natural Play Space!

This is a beautiful space located across the street  behind  Merritt Health and Wellness. The space offers climbing/balancing stumps and logs, rosemary bushes, trees, fun outdoor equipment, and coming soon, picnic areas and a brand new garden area for the kiddos to plant and grow during the season!

We are so excited to utilize the outdoor space for activities such as scavenger hunts, hide and seek, and duck-duck -goose! As well as exploring plants, like the Rosemary bush or taking our magnifying glasses outside and closely examining the leaves, sticks, tree stumps or ladybugs we find!

The outdoor space provides the kiddos a great place to develop their gross motor skills, explore nature, get outdoors, garden, and more! This is a great way to teach the children about their environment and how to care for it!  It is also a beautiful spot to take curriculum outside! Right now our PK/PS class is learning all about “Trees”. They are SO excited to get outside and collect samples!

We will be outside playing and learning soon! Watch for upcoming pictures on Facebook page!!
